My Name is Jacob Gordus and I graduated from Huntley High School and currently attend Milwaukee School of Engineering studying Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering. Currently I've worked with AutoDesk Inventor to create an assortment of things utilizing the software such as a puzzle cube and train car model. Additionally, I've worked with Revit to create a Habitat for Humanity house and to also renovate a warehouse into a brand-new library with a green roof. In the past I've worked in a small group of Huntley High School engineers to research, design, test, and create a real product that will help aid in preventing or subduing ADHD and other attention disorders within an individual in the workplace or school. In doing so, productivity in the workplace and in school may be benefited as a direct result because with the subduing of attention disorders utilizing non-pharmaceutical means, can help improve the well-being, mental state, productivity, and efficiency of an individual with an attention disorder. Since we were working in unknown territory and have little knowledge of ADHD in young adults, we needed to reach out to someone who could help mentor us in our endeavor. We reached out to Steven Faraone, an American Psychologist who specializes in attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and related disorders. Mr. Faraone has authored over 700 journal articles, editorials, chapters, and books and was the eighth highest producer of High Impact Papers in Psychiatry. Mr. Faraone has agreed to mentor us and help educate us in areas that are unfamiliar to us regarding ADHD and other attention disorders.
